What to ask on a synthetic turf quote

Ask how deep the base is going and whether the old surface is coming out or getting covered over. Ask what the base is built from and whether it gets compacted. Ask about the edges, and what holds the turf down where it meets a path, a fence or a garden bed.

Then ask what happens to the dirt that comes out, because that's a real cost and it doesn't always make it onto a quote. Ask us the same questions. Two quotes for one yard can be a long way apart and be describing two different jobs.
